Remove legacy AnalystAgent fallback and EVO_AGENT_IDS=legacy test paths.
EvoAgent is now the default for all supported roles.
- Delete runs/_legacy/ backup directory (live/, backtest/, production/)
- Remove test_evo_agent_legacy_mode test
- Remove test_pipeline_create_runtime_analyst_uses_legacy_when_not_in_evo_ids test
- Update TradingPipeline docstring to reflect EvoAgent-only runtime
Constraint: EvoAgent migration completed in prior commits
Scope-risk: narrow (test and comment cleanup only)
Remove deprecated AnalystAgent, PMAgent, and RiskAgent classes.
All agent creation now goes through UnifiedAgentFactory creating EvoAgent instances.
- Delete backend/agents/analyst.py (169 lines)
- Delete backend/agents/portfolio_manager.py (420 lines)
- Delete backend/agents/risk_manager.py (139 lines)
- Update all imports to use EvoAgent exclusively
- Clean up unused imports across 25 files
- Update tests to work with simplified agent structure
Constraint: EvoAgent is now the single source of truth for all agent roles
Constraint: UnifiedAgentFactory handles runtime agent creation
Rejected: Keep legacy aliases | creates maintenance burden
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate (affects agent instantiation paths)
Directive: All new agent features must be added to EvoAgent, not legacy classes
Not-tested: Kubernetes sandbox executor (marked with TODO)
- Delete backend/cli.py and all CLI-specific tests (test_cli.py,
test_openclaw_cli_service.py, test_skills_cli.py)
- Remove evotraders console script from pyproject.toml
- Update README/CLAUDE.md to reference python backend/main.py instead of CLI
- Add pytest-asyncio to dev dependencies
- Enhance EvoAgent with reload_runtime_assets and backward-compat attrs
- Align tests with updated API semantics and gateway process models
Constraint: CLI is deprecated in favor of split-service runtime model
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Task 1: Clean up root-level runtime directories
- Backup live/, backtest/, production/ to runs/_legacy/
- Remove legacy directories from repo root
Task 2: API route semantics cleanup
- Create /api/runs/{run_id}/agents/* routes for runtime agent operations
- Keep /api/workspaces/{id}/agents/* for design-time (deprecated)
- Update frontend runtimeApi.js to use new /runs/ prefix
- Update legacy-inventory.md with completion status
New files:
- backend/api/runs.py - Runtime agent routes with proper run_id semantics
Modified:
- backend/api/__init__.py - Export runs_router
- backend/apps/agent_service.py - Include runs_router, update scope docs
- frontend/src/services/runtimeApi.js - Use /runs/ instead of /workspaces/
- docs/legacy-inventory.md - Mark cleanup as completed
Constraint: Maintain backward compatibility with old /workspaces/ routes
Rejected: Remove old routes entirely | need backward compatibility during transition
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: moderate
Directive: Old /api/workspaces/ routes remain functional but deprecated
Not-tested: Full integration test with active runtime
Migrate all agent roles from Legacy to EvoAgent architecture:
- fundamentals_analyst, technical_analyst, sentiment_analyst, valuation_analyst
- risk_manager, portfolio_manager
Key changes:
- EvoAgent now supports Portfolio Manager compatibility methods (_make_decision,
get_decisions, get_portfolio_state, load_portfolio_state, update_portfolio)
- Add UnifiedAgentFactory for centralized agent creation
- ToolGuard with batch approval API and WebSocket broadcast
- Legacy agents marked deprecated (AnalystAgent, RiskAgent, PMAgent)
- Remove backend/agents/compat.py migration shim
- Add run_id alongside workspace_id for semantic clarity
- Complete integration test coverage (13 tests)
- All smoke tests passing for 6 agent roles
Constraint: Must maintain backward compatibility with existing run configs
Constraint: Memory support must work with EvoAgent (no fallback to Legacy)
Rejected: Separate PM implementation for EvoAgent | unified approach cleaner
Confidence: high
Scope-risk: broad
Directive: EVO_AGENT_IDS env var still respected but defaults to all roles
Not-tested: Kubernetes sandbox mode for skill execution
